Eric Weinstein's Kooky Coronavirus Conspiracies

Eric Weinstein is at it again.

For the last few weeks, Eric Weinstein has been being exceptionally pedantic about mask recommendations. At the same time, his brother has been describing the set of kerchiefs he wears and his showering regime during the pandemic.

It is clear that the Weinstein brothers love their masks, and Eric was particularly mad that the Surgeon General told the public they did not need one:

It is clear the context of the mask guidance was that Americans, never settling for second rate products, would quickly buy all the stock of N95 masks - no matter how many were produced. This is important PPE that is not to be wasted, so to have regular folks buying the best masks just so they can go back to their lifestyle of chilling in the Starbucks all day is extremely counterproductive.

Therefore the guidance for the rest of us was quite clear: social distancing. Stay home.

But for someone like Eric Weinstein, being pedantic during a crisis is what he is going to do.

And then Eric graduated to demanding resignations from the "experts":

And suggesting that the mask recommendation undermined ALL of science

... recall that Eric Weinstein believes that his brother Bret cracked the code and found the reason that all of modern medicine is suspect. So of course Eric Weinstein thinks science is undone by a tweet from the Surgeon General.

Again, here is Eric Weinstein is saying SG Jerome Adams needs to quit:

Then he pivots to the head of the CDC, claiming it all has something to do with his favorite conspiracy theory, generational discrimination:

Of course, the person responsible for selecting the head of the CDC, who Eric Weinstein feels is incompetent, is Donald J Trump.

Donald Trump's first pick for the head of the CDC was not long on the job as it was discovered they had conflicts of interests as investments in tobacco and opiods.

Eric Weinstein does not mention this, because Eric Weinstein does not bother looking things up.

But Eric is back on to "Embedded Growth Obligations" (his generational conspiracy theory), suggesting that "they" are "willing to kill":

Then Eric Weinstein goes on to share a scary story about a nurse being denied PPE:

The story has since been debunked by many outlets: (1, 2)

"Imaris Vera, the nurse in this video, clarified her experience on Monday in a tweet: 'We were each assigned 1 N95 per 1 covid patient's room but was not allowed to wear it outside of the room, wear our own N95 mask around the Nurses station or Halls, which I came prepared with,'" CBS posted on Twitter on Tuesday. "The hospital, Northwestern Medicine, acknowledged that Imaris Vera had quit her job, but referred CBS News to Vera as to the details of why."

CBS’s clarifying tweet had received less than 1,000 likes as of Tuesday afternoon.

Vera has not publicly commented on the incident.

"I am currently looking for other COVID Nursing jobs where I know I'll feel SAFE & not be told I can’t wear my own mask/PPE," Vera posted on Facebook on April 1. Vera wrote on March 26 that she "suffer[s] with anxiety and bi-polar depression and was feeling a heavy toll with transitioning back into the ICU after being away from the bedside for over a year," indicating she hadn’t worked as a nurse for one year and quit her new job almost immediately.

It's not clear why Eric Weinstein left his tweets up. Maybe he has something more elaborate to say about how hospitals should use PPE - however, he's already moved on to telling Tulsi Gabbard that the Surgeon General belongs in prison:

Eric Weinstein continues with a bunch of pedantic nonsense mixed in with post-hoc analysis of asymptomatic cases should have been dealt with, and continues to ignore the man who appointed all the 'experts' that Eric hates.

After being pressed, Eric finally addresses Trump: (but not without also demanding Pelosi resign)

Dave Rubin not seeing why the president that wants to 'liberate'Minnesota, Michigan, Virginia is actually doing a bad job might be peak Rave Dubin.

Eric Weinstein quickly moves on to the virus being created by the Chinese, and saying that "smart people" are asking the same question:

It's safe to say that Eric Weinstein doesn't know anyone smart in medicine -- he's a silicon valleybro that thinks his repeated failure in the math field gives him special insight into public health and biowarfare.

Recall that Eric Weinstein's favorite blog, zerohedge, was suspended from Twitter for doxing Chinese scientists based on ridiculous claims that they authored the virus.

Eric Weinstein is not a virologist, but he's apparently going to keep tweeting about viruses anyways.
